I went to Swagbucks.com as I was thinking about trading in some swagbucks for an Amazon gift card when I noticed that they are now offering Paypal as a reward! Woo Hoo! I love that they are doing this now. I often use Paypal as a means to trade for coupons. I call it my monopoly money because I just let it accumulate and only use it when I need it!

I did a bit of a search on swagbucks and it seems it’s a site that sometimes pays you (in swagbucks) to use the search engine. My question is how and why??

That still doesn’t answer why they do this. Are they just trying to make themselves known? Are they recording our searches and doing marketing research? And how do they make money?

Swagbucks is basically offering the swagbucks as an incentive for you to use them as your search engine….thus making them more appealing to you. This makes them unique and I would assume they do this to differentiate them from the other big search engines so they can get their share of the search engine moolah!
As for recoding your searches–I pulled this from teh Swagbuck’s FAQ’s page: Will you spam me or track my searches?

Wow, now I see why they pay you to use their search engine. It’s HORRIBLE! They’d have to pay me a heck of a lot more than they currently offer to use it.
