Here at my house, I have always had to use laundry detergents that are made without dye or fragrance since both of my boys are sensitive to these additives. Â I was shocked to learn that many detergents also use things called optical brighteners! Â These optical brighteners convert UV rays into visible light to create an optical illusion. This tricks the eye into thinking the clothing is whiter and brighter, and therefore cleaner than it really is. WOW–who knew?! Â According to scientific research, these optical brighteners can cause allergic reactions, are toxic to small fish and other aquatic life, and can pollute your waterways. UGGH!
So how can you make sure the clean you see is the clean that you are actually getting??  You can use Seventh Generation products.  Seventh Generation laundry detergents are not only free of optical brighteners, but they’re also non-toxic . In addition, because Seventh Generation liquid laundry detergents are both hypo-allergenic and biodegradable, you can rest easy knowing you made a considerate choice for your family and the environment.
I have used the Seventh Generation products here at my house and been very pleased with the results. Â The boys clothes come out fresh and clean and I don’t have to worry that the detergent will cause their skin to break out!
If you would like to try Seventh Generation Laundry products, you can grab a $1/1 coupon to check them out for yourself.
Also, one of my readers will get a FREE set of Seventh Generation Laundry products (Seventh Generation Detergent, Liquid Fabric Softener and Fabric Softener Sheets).
If you would like to win this prize pack, leave a comment letting me know your favorite tip(s) for keeping your families healthy at home.
I will choose a winner on Thursday 12/23 around 11pm.
Disclosure: Seventh Generation and MyBlog Spark provided me with information as well as products for me and my winner. Â All comments and opinions are my own!
I always lysol the remote controls and the door knobs! People always forget those items but most often they are the things your germ sharers will touch after sneezing!
I *LOVE* the Chlorox/Lysol type wipes. I keep them in each bathroom and wipe down as necessary in between regular cleanings.
I also use them to wipe down the phones, remotes, door handles, etc.
I always use clorox wipes – great for small or large jobs!
I keep Purell bottles all around the house
My favorite tip for keeping my family heatlhy at home is HANDWASHING =) As a nurse I can tell you this is the best way to protect yourself and others! I love the seventh generation dish soap and would love to try their laundry deteregent.
Maybe I’m the only one who has this problem, but when sniffles start, I also start to see piles of used tissues here and there! I keep the tissues thrown out, and use an herbal spray to keep germs at a minimum!
I would LOVE to know what your herbal spray is all about. I think that the chemicals and toxins in Lysol sometimes outweigh the disinfecting benefits. I have read that tea tree oil is helpful but am not at all familiar with herbal properties.
My favorite tip, besides handwashing, is spraying lysol on door knobs AND laundry baskets as soon as the dirty clothes are emptied into the washer machine!
I use Lysol wipes in the bathroom and make sure we wash our hands frequently.
Yes…often cleaning all the things that are touched.
As a nurse, my favorite tip to keep my family healthy is frequent handwashing. I keep GermX throughout the house and in both vehicles of he car.
I am slowly transitioning to environmentally safer cleaning products and would love to try the Seventh Generation Laundry detergent.
i dont really do anything out of the ordinary i belive we have to let our children build up ammunitys to alot of evryday germs. I love and practice the song my kids learned in Head Start something along the lines of ” Tops and bottoms. In between, all around your fingers… now their clean” and repeat if nessacarly LOL just to get them to wash their hands a bit longer
Would love cleaning products
Lysol wipes are great to use on toys, light switches, door knobs, in the kitchen, in the bathroom….just about everywhere!
Clorox wipes on everything! Would love to try 7th generation products. My kids have skin sensitivities too.
I use vinegar water with a few drops of lavender or citrus oil to clean and disinfect my floors and counters. As a plus it also smells good after it drys.
I’m a firm believer in lots of handwashing to keep the germs at bay!
Good hand washing is more important than most people think. Teach kids to sing their ABCs while they’re washing their hands with warm water in order to give them a guideline on how long it takes to get hands clean.
We wash our hands all the time!!
Constant handwashing and bleaching down everything!!!! I am a bleach freak.
I use a vinegar, water, and lemon solution for cleaning floor, door knobs and counters around my house. It gets them clean, and doesn’t leave a overpowering fragrance behind.
wash your hands, wash wash your hands! 😉
Also i don’t use any of the big brands when it comes to cleaning products, they all give me a headache! I usually make my own cleaners, vinegar, baking soda, borax, lemon juice and tea tree oil can go a long way, and sometimes use the green brands.
Lots of handwashing!
washing hands is big at my house!
It’s as simple as washing your hands. If you think about it and you can’t remember the last time you washed your hands, it’s been too long. Wash them.
I teach my kids to wash their hands frequently and to not touch their faces (unless absolutely necessary, of course) while at school or out shopping. I also give them a little extra Vitamin D since I’ve heard it boost the immunity system.
i use disinfect my counters/sink every night after the kitchen is clean
I like to keep a pop up of lysol wipes in the bathroom and kitchen to quickly wipe down counters and faucets.
In our house we take our vitatmins and get some free vitamin d outside 🙂
Even though it makes for a chilly few minutes daily, I open at least one window in each room for about 10 minutes a day. It really seems to help keep the air fresh, which always seems clean to me! 🙂
I love the lysol wipes I do all the door knobs in my house daily
I love 7th Gen products. We have used them for diapers and wipes for the last 2 1/2 years (2 babies). I wish I had a super great (and original) idea for keeping our family healthy. The usuals apply (handwashing, cleaning door handles, vitamins, etc). I also try to wash their sheets a LOT when they are sick (almost daily). I just think about all the coughs and runny nose germs that are right where they lay their heads every night. I hope this makes their sicknesses shorter and from being passed around again. Oh, I also try to change their toothbrushes when they are on the mend. 🙂
I love the 7th Generation products and have been pleased that their dish washing detergent is healthy and safe and is gentle on my hands! In regards to keeping family safe and healthy, wash wash wash your hands!
Wash hands, and keep wet wipes at the table! I have a 3 & 1 year old, so those little hands need to stay clean!
I try to limit sugar quantities and up the Vitamin C this time of year. Keeps us from getting sick!
Lysol!!! is my favorite…spraying after the guest left the house!!
Lysol as well 🙂 I regularly spray the trash cans, door handles, light switches
On of the best things that I have done for my family is to remove the heavy curtains from ll of the rooms in our home. I did not realize how much dust we were harboring . My daughter has allergies and she has a tendency to sneeze quite a bit when dust is around. I have replaced the windows with short valances and a blind and have been really pleased to see that the sneezing has slowed and the dust is minimal now.
Hand Sanitizer and more hand sanitizer. We have it in every room of the house. Plus it makes it easier for kids and dads to put a pump in their hand without me yelling wash your hands after every little thing.
Lots of hand washing…and when out…hand sanitizer. My kids know when we get home we wash our hands first thing. So far no illness this season!
I would love to win. Lysol and handwashing 🙂
Handwashing and a healthy diet, also staying home when we are sick. Don’t want anyone else to get it.
Twice a week I take my Lysol clothes and clean all doorknobs, phones, light switches and computer keyboards,to try to stop the spread of germs.
I love to use safe cleaners like vinegar to disinfect toys. I also wash my children’s hand with soap and water before meal time and after playing on the play ground.
Lots of handwashing! We also like to eat lots of oranges this time of year, which are great for Vitamin C.
Clorox Wipes
Hand washing for EVERYONE in the house and open the windows (I’m in Alabama so we can usually do that in the winter)to let fresh air in.
Lots of hand washing and hand sanitizer. We also all got the flu shot this year…so far so good!
Dusting frecuently, hand washing and changing the toothbrush after a cold or flu and if not sick every three months.
I have two tips:
1)Get a flu shot.
2) Don’t be a germaphobe.
I’m not a cleaning nazi. I don’t freak out if my kid drops something and then picks it up and eats it. I don’t wipe downt he shopping cart with wipes or use those shopping cart covers. I think we do more harm than good to our immune systems by scrubbing everything with Lysol all the time, and slathering on handsanitizer (it kills the good germs as well as the bad!).
Eat healthy (and in season), take your vitamins, and get some sun. That’s what keeps the doctor away.
I’ve hardly ever gotten sick! I have a 20 month old daughter who has gotten sick one time (and it was very minor fever for a day, stuffy nose).
Lysol & Clorox wipes on everything!
Washing hands is a rule in our house! We are out too often not to be careful about it.
first, we use the hands free soap dispenser. 😀
we spread my 4 year old’s shots out as well as my 9 month old’s shots. and they are not allowed to get certain ones. The flu shot caused my 9 year old cousin to be paralized from the waist down for a few months, so we stay away from that, in case an allergy might run in the family…
we hardly ever get sick either. Like the above reader, I agree, we don’t wipe down everything, cause we want to build our kids immune systems up. seems to be working great!
I try to cook using as much natural foods as I can afford and fruits and veggies are a must! We need to be just as careful, if not more careful, with what we’re putting IN our bodies as what’s around us. 🙂
We wash our hands all the time, wash down the house at least twice a week during the flu season.
Though they are expensive, I bought a Roomba so our house could be vacuumed daily. It’s amazing how much dust and dirt gets tracked in and stays aound household floors. Our Roomba keeps household allergies and pet dander under control. I love it!
We love Dr. Sears Immunity Booster vitamins!
We’re big on handwashing at our house.
Love Love Love clorox wipes!
eat healthy stay warm or cool and keep occupied.
As soon as we feel like we are going to get sick we take 3000 mgs of Vitamin C!
We only use ‘green’ cleaners and we skip the fabric softeners because they are full of formaldehyde.
We use humidifiers to keep the flu away!
I teach my kids about washing hands and how to properly cover their mouths. We talk about what germs are and how they can hurt us.
Love, love, love our hands free soap dispensers!!!!!
We take vitamins and keep our hands washed.
We love clorox wipes, room sanitizer spray and wash our hands often!
Take vitamins and eat lots of fruit.
We have a Rainbow vacuum. Of course we love it for everyday use, but we also got the huge plastic bag that we can throw pillows, stuffed animals, etc. into and clean them! My husband and son both have asthma, so getting rid of anything that could trigger allergies is a must!
We try to eat as little processed foods as possible.
We stay healthy by eating right and being active!
We try to eat right and do lots of hand washing!
I limit their snacks to whole grains and limit amounts of sugar products.
My tips for keeping my house naturally clean: I use vinegar and baking soda to do the majority of my cleaning and if I need ot pull out the big guns I use non-chlorine bleach. It doesn’t make my eyes burn like regular bleach and if you get the scented kind [like lavender] it leaves a great smell. I combine hot water, vinegar & baking soda in a spray bottle [watch out b/c the baking soda makes the vinegar bubble up like a science experiment, lol] and clean everything from my tubs to my kitchen sink. It unclogs toliets too!
Handwashing is a biggey. Good nutrition with some extra immunity helping vitamins also.
We try to strike a balance between healthy and overly obsessed with clean! we are trying to keep our house clean, but opting to use cleaners made with natural ingredients-ive used the martha stuart line, and the seventh generation line. I think it takes some getting used to, but i like the idea that my kids are being exposed to less chemicals-i can have them help me clean more too!
I like to do a load of laundry every other day to keep up with the wash instead of having to do 4 or 5 loads on the weekend and having the laundry backed up.
In my house handwashing is a priority. Being a nurse myself I know that this is the biggest preventative.
Using organic as much as we can with the coupons that are available!
keep our hands washed
Lots of handwashing and outdoor walks when the weather permits.
Handwashing!

I try to wash my hands a lot and not bite my fingernails!!
We are big on hand washing at our house!
My favorite cleaning tips is…… To freshen and clean my toilet I drop in a Polident Tablet (Kind used for false teeth) . It is a wonderful cleaner for the toilet and I do not have to scrub like I use to have to do.
Gummy vitamins
Not going to bed until the kitchen is sparkling clean – food put away, dishwasher on, counters disinfected, floors vaccumed and washed.
No, I am not being sarcastic – it just helps with cleanliness and there is no better feeling than walking into a clean kitchen the next morning.
Lots of vitamin C and handwashing. We also use other vitamins and stuff to try to keep our immune system up. Getting plenty of rest is also a big part of keeping us healthy. =)
We never leave food out for a long period of time, we wash our hands often, and take a 500mg of vitamin C every day.
We wash our hands very often.
Carrot juice, hand washing and outside activities.
We take viatamins and drink OJ.
i encourage lots of hand washing in my house!
i encourage lots of hand washing in my house!
We excercise, take vitamins and wash hands frequently.
We have noticed that there are so many chemicals in everyday products that we have started using more and more all natural organic products. We try to eat organic fruits and veggie if possible. Taking vitamins C and D and staying away from junk food.
We work out and use antibacterial soap and I use Seventh Generation as much as possible when I find coupons for it.
frequent hand washing! this is the biggest thing for us. also, to be honest we dont overly avoid germs and public places-the only way to build immunity is to be exposed! sounds silly I know, but my family is rarely sick-last week we went to Sunday lunch with 2 families we are friends with…later that day we got a call that the middle son of one family was throwing up, then that night we went to our small group meeting with the other family from lunch and the next morning their daughter was throwing up. both families wound up with the stomach bug but none of us did!
To keep our family healthy we try to eat well most of the time.
Lots of hand washing and Lysol spray!
We use Seventh Generation dish soap and lots of hand sanitizer!
I would love to try this!
keep cleaning supplies on counter to make it easy to use…can always put them away when you have company.
We drink a lot of water and 100% juice in our house. No soda, no juice “drinks”, etc. And we all take our vitamins at dinner 🙂
I love the seventh generation dishwasher soap. We wash our hands alot and we try to go for a walk outside everyday!
Keeping hands washed, take vitamins, keep kitchen and bathrooms disinfected.
Always making sure we have some antibacterial soap around to wash hands with frequently and hand sanitizer to use when out.
Clean hands, healthy eating, lots of water and vitamin C
Use the disinfecting wipes provided near the shopping carts at Publix. I wipe down the whole handle and seat area before I put my little guy in and do my shopping!
clean hands and lots of vitimins!
Healthiness during the flu season starts with a lot of water and good handwashing. I promote both in my home.
Clean Hands!
changing hand towels VERY often, along with hand washing!

I am always reminding the kids to wash their hands!
Try to eat healthy and take vitamins.
Pick me!!
Don’t ever rub your eyes!!!!
Clean hands are a must!!
As most, washing hands is a must but we also tend to do a little extra at our house this time of year…we lysol the door knobs and phones at least once a week. Also as hard as it is sometimes we don’t allow our kids to share drinks with us no matter how tempting to just give them a little sip of ours. Hope you all have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Keeping those little hands washed (and the big ones too!). Also I try to make sure everyone gets a good night’s sleep.
I have used this product, but don’t buy it often because of the cost. Would be great to win.
I try to use all green cleaning products and buy alot of organic foods, excpecially meats and fruits and vegies.
Bleach, Purell, and Lysol are my friends!
We wash hands frequently around our house. Also we clean alot with vinegar. Im pretty stern about covering coughs and sneezes especially this time of year since the flu season is here.
hand washing, handwashing, HANDWASHING!
We have a bottle of hand sanitizer in every room of our house and the rule around our house is, once you enter you go to the sink and wash your hands. I don;t care if you are an adult or one of my kids friends, I don’t like when my kids are sick because I know how bad they feel.
I have been very fortunate that my kids have stayed healthy for awhile. We practice keep things clean and wash hands constantly.
Breastfeed my 14 month old!
Antibacterial wipes!
Handwashing and rest. With busy schedules I have a strict bed time and we try to limit our activities so we don’t get run down. There is always so much to do, but we try to pace ourselves.
Cleaning more with vinegar and water.
We wipe down counters, fridge door handle, toilet handle daily with disinfectant. And, lots of hand washing, too.
Wash hands often!
I try to sneak in vegetables whenever I can. Cutting them up very small in meatloaf, adding them to muffins, etc
I try to home cook everything to minimize the amount of preservatives we eat. I also use natural products and we talk about “good for our bodies” food.
Handwashing is key for us, plush we work on not touching our face and coughing or sneezing into our elbow.
CLOROX WIPES and Lysol! I use them often. Once one person gets sick, then everyone else does soon after.
I use a steam mop to keep chemicals off the floor where my dogs walk around 🙂
All things in moderation keeps us healthy. We exercise and have our sweets sometimes too!
I use natural cleaners like vinegar and baking soda instead of the sprays you can purchase.
I do the same and have noticed a vast improvement in our health.
I LOVE Seventh Generation products! After the birth of my first child, I was really interested in products that are safe for my home and good for the environment. I started using Seventh Generation laundry detergent and haven’t turned back since. Also did some research and now make my own all purpose cleaner and veggie spray! I use vinegar and water to clean all mirrors and glass in my home! No more toxic fumes and my home is still clean!
When my little girl was born nine months ago I became very cognizant of the chemicals I was using to clean our home. Over the past few months I have switched to a steam mop for the floors, vinegar, baking soda or seventh generation products for most everything else. Now when I clean up smooshed banana or bisquit crumbs from the kitchen or couch I can rest assured I’m not exposing my family to harsh, potentially dangerous, products.
I use SG products already, love it! Good old Vinegar and Water works in a bind.
I buy as much organic and natural stuff as possible. Couponing has made that possible!
Eat lots of fruits and veggies and drink lots of water!
Lots of handwashing!
Getting a proper amount of sleep is essential to staying healthy! It’s simple, yet often so hard to do, especially this time of year.
I buy organic as much as possible!
Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer help us get rid of the germs.
Always use paper towels to dry hands!
Vitamins!!!! Even eating healthy does not give us all the vitamins we need so we invest in good vitamins to keep the kids healthy!!
We have six children and I cannot stress handwashing enough. We also wash bedding frequently!
I use good old fashioned white vinegar for cleaning. It’s my fabric softener, my dishwasher rinse agent, toilet sanitizer and cleaner, and floor cleaner, just to name a few. I’ve really noticed the change for the better in my sensitive skin and my children’s sensitive skin since switching to white vinegar for the above-mentioned uses.
After some health problems cropped up for one of my children, we began to look at becoming as chemical free as possible. Reading the ingredients of a product is a major part of our transition but we also had to research ways manufacturers were hiding chemicals names in their ingredient list on the labels. I started getting my children involved (8 and 10) and it became sort of a game for them to read the labels and try and find the hidden ingredients. They also learned that the fewer ingredients the better. I was amazed at how involved and interested they became in our endeavor to become healthier. Of course they had a vested interest and finding chips and snacks that not only had the acceptable ingredients but also tasty! So getting my kids involved proved to be a blessing!
My family also has tried to use odorless detergents; pretty much all of us are sensitive to strong smells. It’s good to know about the other thing, too! As for health tips? We have air purifiers in every room, which cuts down on dust and mildew and sweat in the air. We’ve found that this helps a lot for us!
Clean doorknobs and the fridge/freezer handles!
I use baking soda to get cleaner pots and pans and tea/coffee cups, countertops, and I also put some down the garbage disposal with some vinegar.
Getting the flu shot, a daily multivitamin, and basic hand-washing go a long way for me.
I bought one of those automatic soap dispensers for my bathroom and now my son actually LIKES washing his hands!
Having a special needs child in the house, most all of our foodstuff has to be made from scratch. We also found sensitivity to many cleaning products as well. Plain old white vinegar has become our “go-to”
every week I have my son run around with the lysol can and spray the doorknobs and light switches (inside and out), and we spray right before and right after guests to keep the germs away! So far so good!
I love using 7th Generation dish soap. It smells great, cleans great, and is all natural.
We eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and wash our hands as often as possible
We wash, wash, and wash some more!
Handwashing and keeping the floors and linens as clean as possible.
We always get our flu shots and try to get our Vitamin C! I also try to keep clean washcloths by the sink and change our kitchen and bath hand towels regularly.
We try to eat as little processed food as possible and white vinegar & peroxide are my “go-to” cleaners. Hand washing is also very important.
I try to buy more organic foods especially fruit and milk products. I also use more environmentally and people friendly products like Method and Seventh Gen
We eat fresh fruits and veggies three times a day. In my floor steamer I use vinegar to clean and sterilize. It works great!!
We are constantly using hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipers whenever possible. Also, when money allows, i buy organic food and drinks. Oh, and my son has excema and allergies so we use dye free and fragrence free products.
We all take a multivitamin every day and we drink lots and lots of water!
Tons of hand washing!
Definitely showing the kids to sing Happy Birthday while they clean their hands to make sure they wash properly
I send the kids to school with pocket bottles of antibacterial soap
We just stay home as much as possible during the winter months.
We try to stay at home as much as possible and wash hands often, especially before meals.
I make sure we wash our hands after every trip to the potty.
Lots of hand washing!
I keep antibacterial everywhere in the house.. this way hands will always be cleaned! I also keep it in the car for when I pick up the girls from school. A little squirt and the germs from the day go away!! 80)
I love this giveaway. Can you believe I put 7th Gen laundry detergent on my Christmas list? All the cleaning products in our home are chemical free and I make most of them. One thing I make is laundry detergent. It doesn’t take long, but sometimes I get caught with out one scoop of detergent left and 3 loads of laundry…
Soap and warm water!!! I am OCD about making sure hands are washed after going to the bathroom, playing, before eating, after shopping, etc.
lysol wipes and spray
I keep paper towels in the bathrooms, instead of a regular cotten towel. This helps to minimize the germ-sharing. Additionally, I am a fanatic of washing hands and using hand sanitizers!
We use lysol wipes.
We eat fruit and vegetables regularly. Our afternoon snack is always a fruit and or vege “dippy plate” as my daughter calls it. I believe that boosting your immune system is the best way to fight germs:)
wash, wash and wash our hands after just about everything, bacteria wipes, lysol wipes and spray. I also clean my carpets regularly and vacuum my drapes and lamp shades.
Handwashing and a healthy diet
I have allergies and react poorly to commercial cleaning products… So we try to use natural antibacterials and cleaners like vinegar, lemon juice, corn starch, etc. to reduce the amount of chemicals in the house. There is nothing to worry about while cleaning, and we won’t need to call poison control if someone small gets into the supply cabinet!
Hand sanitizer, wash hands and wipes!
We make sure our kids wash their hands a lot! And when we go out shopping or somewhere they will put their hands where lots of other hands have been, we use an antibacterial wash.
I carry a bottle of hand sanitizer in my diaper bag for kids to use when we are out and about.
I am a firm believer in wiping verything off with Clorox wipes or spraying Lysol! Plus we wash hands ALOT!!!
We keep a spray bottle of vinegar and use that for cleaning the counters, sink, and bathroom (even floors and mirrors).
We have the clorox wipes always on hand to help us clean!
I carry hand sanatizer in my car for when the kids get out of school.
We always use hand sanitizer after activities.
Couple of things.. have gone completely fragrance free in our home. Per my parents oncologist order…Scents of ANY kind of a scientific link to cancer. I hated to give up perfume/candles and air fresh…but we did. New findings are scary.
Another is going as organic as we can with food…wish food products were more affordable…so we eat less meat now…
Thanks
I would like to know how a scent can lead to cancer? I have not heard that before. In candles, it’s the lead in the wick, which translates to smoke…which can be dangerous. That’s why if you’re going to buy candles, you buy good quality candles with all cotton wicks. You may be mistranslating information.
As a biologist, I don’t believe in all of the sanitizers out on the market – they actually work to decrease our immunity! So I rely on simple, old school ways to clean my house to keep my family and the environment healthy. White vinegar is my FAVORITE cleaning item!! Using white vinegar as a rinse agent for my laundry and dishes keeps them both bright and clean. I also use it on my countertops and floors. It is so cost effective and friendly on my family and the environment.
LynnerdSkinnerd, that is too funny…I’m married to a biology teacher who is of the same thinking as you…so we use alot of natural cleaners. White vinegar is my fave to clean the kitchen counters…it can get all kinds of gunk up!
We wash our hands frequently–the kids know it’s the first thing they have to do upon entering the house no matter where we’ve been. We also eat very little processed foods, lots of fruits and veggies, and use baking soda as both a natural cleaner and toothpaste.
My best tip to keep my family healthy is to keep meat preparation boards and tools separate from veggie prep. My daughter (the doctor) says most “24 hr.flu” is actually food poisoning and using a meat board to chop salad greens is a big culprit! I use a red colored board for meat only and a white one for salads and veggies – no-one in this family has been “sick with the flu” for over four years now. We also do not drink any kind of soda!
One of the most effective methods of staying healthy we use is to take vitamin C and Echinacea regularly. It helps beat anything that makes it into our systems.
We eat tons of fruits and veggies (usually organic too since we’re in a great co-op). I’m also not super sensitive about germs, though we make sure to wash our hands regularly, etc.
I like to use baking soda to clean my sink each night. It cleans well and disinfects too!
To keep my family healthy I use all natural cleaners and eat a diet consisting of no processed foods and lots of fruit and veggies
To keep my family healthy, we have and use a gym membership, we eat lots of produce and organic foods, and we use all natural cleaning products. I make our own laundry soap off of the Haphazardly Hobbying site, but this prize pack would be great for those days when I’ve run out and need something in a pinch!
i keep veggies cut up in the fridge to snack on
I keep my grandchildren while their mommies work. I always have healthy foods here for meals and snacks.
Taking time to wipe down all the counters, door knobs, and light switches with lysol once a week has eliminated the common cold in our household!!!
we carry disinfecting wipes in the diaper bag.
We use only all-natural cleaners. My favorite is a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water for windows, mirrors, and is even a mild disinfectant.
LOTS of sanitizer!!!
My family washes our hands all the time! My doctor said the best way to combat germs is to wash, wash, wash your hands!
Tip – Clean each mess as it happens to avoid bigger messes or spreading germs.
I keep my babys hand clean, feed him healthy food, and pray he doesn’t get sick.
We expose our kids to germs so they build their immune system. Despite all the cleaners, kids are going to get sick and it is better now than later. Keep a clean house but don’t overdue it with the hand sanitized.
We frequently wash our hands and sanitize (with two premature pregnancies I do not take any chances) and also try to use mostly organic foods. I have wanted to try Seventh Generation products, and winning this would give me that opportunity. 🙂
sanitizer for our hands. I keep in my home, purse and car!!
To keep my family healthy, we eat lots of fruits and vegetables and use all natural cleaners like Seventh Generation. If you look into all of the various chemicals in many of these other cleaners, it’s amazing people don’t have more problems with them!
Among other things, I like to serve a salad before the main course; otherwise, my family will fill up on meat, potatoes, and grains and say they are too full for the vegetables. My daughter is willing to eat beans, so for lunch I like to serve them up with several sides of vegetables; for instance, limas, winter squash, organic corn, and maybe some steamed broccoli; or, something Mexican.
We just got a steam mop to keep our floors sanitized! My little kids are on the floor all day…
I make sure we take our vitamins daily, buy a lot of organic food and use lots of “hanatizer” (what my 3 year old calls sanitizer).
I make sure they eat plenty of fruits and veggies. We also wash our hands ALOT!
We wash our hands often to keep germs at bay!
